Year 6 SATS

Dear Year 6,

Next week you will sit your SATs tests for maths, reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation. You shine in so many ways and we look forward to you showcasing what you have learnt academically. But there is something important that you must know…

The SATs test does not assess all of what makes you special and unique. Maybe you love to sing, dance or draw. Maybe you speak two languages, play sports or even more. They don’t show what makes you laugh or how your friends count on you. So remember that before next week, your superpower is you.

SATs will showcase all of your hard work here at Uphill but the work here is done. Now it is time to relax and below are some ideas to help you do this – have a go at one, some or none.

         Go on a bike/scooter ride                                                  See your friend

         Have a games night with your family                              Bake something tasty

         Read a book/comic/magazine                                          Do something arty

         Watch your favourite TV programme                             Dance

         Smile and laugh                                                                   Help to cook dinner

         Watch a movie                                                                      Get muddy

         Have an ice-cream in the sunshine                                  Learn to juggle

         Build a fort – inside or outside!                                        Play in the park

         Try something you’ve never done before                        Take photographs

Remember, you deserve a break and need it.  Get a good night’s sleep each day before your tests and remember to stay calm.  Think about everything we have taught and told you over the past few months.  You will all be brilliant – we know you can do this!!

Enjoy your weekend and good luck for next week.
