Young Voices 2023
Dear Parents,
Firstly, we apologise for the lateness of this information getting to parents.
We are so thrilled to be starting rehearsals next week for our Young Voices Concert in January 2023. The children are so excited about the event and we cannot enthuse enough about just what an experience this is for them.
Payment for the trip will be requested shortly on ParentPay and we will notify parents by text once it is available. Payment must be made by Wednesday 19th October at the latest. The minimum cost for the trip is £24, which covers the coach hire and concert costs. There are then additional charges for the McDonalds lunch and YV T-Shirt package, which are both optional, and an option to purchase tickets to watch the event. Charges to ParentPay will be based on the items you order.
Unfortunately, we can no longer order torches separately, they are part of a T-shirt package. It is not compulsory to purchase a T-shirt but it is a memento of a fantastic night and, although it’s difficult to explain, the torch is what everyone wants!!
T-shirt and torch packages can be ordered for a cost of £15.00 and come in sizes 7-8yrs, 9-11yrs and 12-13yrs.
We stop at Strensham services on our journey to the concert to eat lunch. Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch, but we also offer a McDonalds Happy Meal at a cost of £3.00.

Those children in receipt of pupil premium funding will not be charged for this trip, however if you wish to make a contribution to the cost, please speak to the school office and we can discuss this further.
Although we do not take parents with us, you are able to purchase tickets to watch the event at the NEC in Birmingham. These cost £23.00 each. Parents should order through the school to ensure they get the best tickets before they go on offer to the general public. If you wish to attend the event on the evening, please indicate this on the order form.
Parents need to complete this form by Friday 23rd September 2022 at the latest to indicate whether their child is attending and what items you will be ordering.

It is really important that children attending learn all the words to the songs and the dance moves; without the singing it is very difficult for them to truly experience the event. They are not allowed to have lyrics/song sheets on the day so the lyrics need to be remembered.
Please try to help your child learn the songs by playing them as often as possible. The songs and lyrics can be accessed at the Young Voices ‘My Classmate’ website. To access the site via a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or computer, please use this link below:

We believe this registers your child into ‘myclassmate’ and then we accept them, so it may take a few days before you can access the resources. We will also issue each child with a lyric sheet, which they need to bring to club each week.
The ‘pitch’ of the songs is quite high and this can make them difficult to sing along with. Don’t worry, it really doesn’t matter how high or low they sing as long as your child learns to sing along.
Rehearsals start on Tuesday 20th September 3.15pm-4.15pm. These are sessions where we will learn the songs and can be quite repetitive, we make no apologies for this, it is important the children learn all the songs.
We are currently over-subscribed and are thrilled to be able to take so many children with us to this fabulous event, however time is short to learn the songs and dance moves. Therefore, if a child misses two or more club sessions we will request parents do not send their child to any further sessions and they will not be able to attend the concert. After many years of attending, we understand that only those who have learned the songs enjoy the event so this is very important.
We are truly passionate that this is a one of the best events your child will attend during their time at our school; it is very magical. We are looking forward to taking your child to make memories that last a lifetime.
