Young Voices 2024

Young Voices Concert

Open to Children in Years 4, 5 & 6 (currently Years 3, 4 & 5)

For our 9th year, we are attending the Young Voices concert at the Resorts World Arena (NEC) in Birmingham on Friday 26th January 2024. This fantastic opportunity is open to children in years 4, 5 & 6 who wish to attend and we can take a maximum of 34 children.

Singing in such a large choir means you don’t have to be a great singer, as long as you sing loud and proud you’ll have a fantastic experience! We would encourage any child who wishes to experience a massive, live music concert to consider joining us.

We will be holding rehearsals on a Tuesday afternoon from 3.15pm-4.15pm. However, over the years we have discovered that, to fully immerse themselves in the experience, children will also need to commit to learning the songs and dance moves at home too. Please help your child with this by playing the songs as often as you can around the house or in the car.

Songs will be available from the Young Voices website or on Spotify in the new academic year.

As with all trips there is a cost. The cost for the registration fee and coach travel will be approximately £45 per child but this depends on how many children wish to take part. There will be an opportunity to purchase an optional meal from McDonalds and/or a Young Voices T-shirt Bundle too at a cost of £3.00 and £15.00 respectively, however these are optional purchases.

There may be financial support available for children who qualify for free school meals or pupil premium funding to enable them to attend, however parents will need to request this support and it will be a proportion of the cost.

Be aware, although this is a brilliant day and the experience of a lifetime, it is also a large commitment. We expect children to regularly attend the weekly rehearsal sessions and to learn the songs at home; a child may have their place withdrawn if they do not fully commit to the event. It is also a very long day and is a very loud event, so please make sure your child is prepared for this. We leave school at 10.30am and return to school around midnight.

For further information about the concerts and what it is like, please visit the Young Voices website www.youngvoices.co.uk, speak to previous attendees or to one of the Young Voices team.

If your child wishes to take part, please log on to www.parentpay.co.uk to book your child’s place no later than Monday 17th July. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. No money is required at this time, payments will be charged via ParentPay dependant on your meal & t-shirt order options. A further letter will follow once we know who wishes to attend.

With regards

The Young Voices Team
