Police visit inspires young minds

The long arm of the law was felt at Uphill Village Academy, but entirely in the spirit of education and community engagement.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils enjoyed an exciting and memorable visit from their local community Police Officers.

The session began with an in-depth Q&A, where pupils asked a range of thoughtful and insightful questions about police work, safety, and helping others.

The visit continued with a guided tour of a police van, giving pupils a hands-on look at the equipment officers use in their day-to-day roles. The experience offered a valuable opportunity for children to learn more about the important work carried out by their local police force.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “We were delighted to welcome our local Police Officers into school.

“The children were incredibly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing great curiosity about the role of the police.

“Experiences like this help build confidence, understanding, and positive relationships within our community.”
