Pupils at Uphill complete bikeability training

Year 6 pupils at Uphill Village Academy have successfully taken part in Bikeability, a national cycle training programme designed to give children the skills and confidence to cycle safely on today’s roads.

Throughout the week, pupils learned essential road-safety techniques while practising real-life cycling scenarios around the Uphill area.

Instructors praised the children for their focus, determination, and impressive progress. Staff at the academy were equally delighted, noting how well the pupils rose to the challenge.

These vital skills not only help keep young cyclists safe but also encourage healthy, active travel habits that can last a lifetime.

A spokesperson said: “Our Year 6 pupils showed fantastic enthusiasm and commitment throughout their Bikeability training.

“We are incredibly proud of how confidently they applied their new skills on the road.

“Programmes like this empower children to become safer, more independent riders, and it’s wonderful to see them succeed.”
