Uphill Village Academy holds Remembrance assembly

Staff and pupils at Uphill Village Academy united for a Remembrance assembly to honour the courage and sacrifice of soldiers, past and present.

The assembly, attended by pupils and teachers, provided an opportunity for reflection on the bravery and dedication of service members who have given their lives for peace and freedom.

Year 5 and 6 pupils explored remembrance and represented this using silhouette paintings.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “Today’s assembly reminds us of the bravery of those who have served and the importance of working together for a peaceful future.

“We are proud of our pupils for participating with such respect and understanding. It is heartening to see young people engaged in honouring the sacrifices made by so many.”
