Uphill Village Academy pupils explore money and monetary values
Early Years Foundation Stage pupils at Uphill Village Academy have been engaging in an exciting hands-on learning experience focused on understanding money and monetary values.
As part of the activity, the children explored 1p and 2p coins, closely examining their size, colour, and value.
To bring their learning to life, pupils applied their knowledge by ‘shopping’ at a class shop.
This interactive exercise allowed them to practice identifying coins and understanding their worth in a real-world context.
A school spokesperson said: “It’s wonderful to see our youngest learners so engaged in exploring the concept of money.
“By combining tactile exploration with imaginative play, pupils are not only learning key mathematical concepts but also building confidence in using these skills in everyday situations.”
