Young Uphill scientists explore the digestive system
Year 2 pupils at Uphill Village Academy recently took on the role of young scientists as they explored the fascinating journey of food through the digestive system.
Through hands-on learning, pupils discovered how food travels down the oesophagus into the stomach, where it can remain for up to four hours before continuing its journey through the body.
To bring their learning to life, pupils created their own models to illustrate the digestive process in action. This interactive activity allowed them to deepen their understanding of human biology in a fun and engaging way.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We believe that practical, learning is key to inspiring curiosity and a love of science in our pupils.
“Watching them actively engage in this topic and apply their knowledge creatively has been fantastic.”
