Term 3
Term 3
Girls T1 Rugby Tournament
This week our Year 5/6 girls had an unforgettable experience at a rugby tournament organised by the RFU and Kingswood RFC. They played some games and were coached by the some of the Red Roses (England ladies!) The girls were thrilled to get tips and encouragement from professional players. Our team played with great spirit and determination, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
Year 4 Multi-Skills Event
Our Year 4 students participated in a multi-skills event designed to develop their fundamental movement skills. The event included a variety of activities that focused on developing physical literacy, as well as a mini netball tournament! The children rotated through different stations, each focusing on a specific skill. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and effort as they tried new challenges and supported each other.
PE lessons
EYFS/Year 1 have been practising some dynamic balances, such as walking along a line or bench. They enjoyed showing each other what they had been doing and praising their friends.
Year 2 have also been focusing on dynamic balances in their indoor PE lessons whilst exploring different ball skills in outdoor PE.
In their indoor PE lessons, Year 3/4 have been exploring ball skills and balances through different challenges that they have then applied in their outdoor lessons of tag rugby.
Year 5/6 have been enjoying hockey this term. They have learned lots of skills with hockey sticks as well passing and different ways of moving the ball. Then they looked at rules and tactics and applied them in games.
Please get involved in the North Somerset ‘Feel Fab Feb’ challenge over half term to help you stay active. You can download it from the link below if you would like to get involved, along with a link for a free CPR course for parents/carers. If you are a superstar and complete the challenge, show your sheet to Miss Arnall for your certificate!
We are looking forward to next term where we can hopefully spend lots of time outside and at outdoor events in the sun!
