Year 6 Charterhouse Residential Trip – Parent Meeting & Forms
Dear Parents/Carers,
Planning is now well underway to ensure we are ready to go to our Year 6 residential trip to Charterhouse on Wednesday 20th May.
Most parents are maintaining their payment plan for Charterhouse, however there are some payments outstanding. Can we ask all parents to review their MCAS account and ensure payments are up to date as per the payment plan. The payment plan letter can be found at:
https://uphillvillageacademy.clf.uk/letters/year-6-charterhouse-residential-trip/
A reminder that the Charterhouse Parent Meeting will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd February from 3.30pm in the school hall. Children are encouraged to attend this with you. This will be held with the staff attending Charterhouse this year; Miss Hynam, Mrs Matthews, Mr Hancock and Mrs Haberfield & Mrs Bailiss.
We are now in the process of compiling essential and dietary information for all the children attending. The links to these electronic forms are below. These need to be completed by next Friday, 13th February 2026. Both forms must be completed for your child to be able to attend the residential trip.
Essential Information Form – Year 6 Charterhouse Residential 2026 – Essential Information – Fill in form
Parental Agreement Form – Year 6 Charterhouse Residential 2026 – Parental Agreement Form – Fill in form
There is a kit list at the end of this letter. Please do not buy new clothes or kit for the trip, most items can be obtained very cheaply from charity shops. Clothes and shoes get very muddy and dirty so ‘the older the better’. Do not overpack, children are only there for 2 nights and will wear the clothes they travel in on the first day (Wednesday). Please do not forget bedding, as this cannot be provided by Charterhouse.
If your child has a medical condition, where medication will be required for the duration of the trip, please ensure you clearly state this on the Essential Information Form. Please remember all medication must be prescribed and dispensed, with all the original labels in place. When we receive the information, we will contact parents directly to arrange for medical forms to be completed.
Charterhouse is located near Blagdon, which is only a short 30 minute coach journey. However, if you believe your child will require travel sickness tablets, please state this in the medical conditions part of the form. We will contact parents directly regarding the administering of this medication.
If any child or parent has concerns regarding any of the arrangements, please speak to the school office team or your child’s class teacher asap to discuss your concerns.
We are really looking forward to this fabulous trip, we hope your children are too!
With regards
Year 5/6 Team
