Monday Resources-Year One
Below is a youtube version of our story. Please use this to help you retell the story on lined paper provided. We break the story up so it isn’t as much to write in one session. We are doing it in two days but you might choose to write the opening on Monday, Build up on Tuesday, Problem on Wednesday, Resolution on Thursday and Ending on Friday.

Use the above writing paper if more is needed when writing up the story. The below resources-can your child (with your help) read the sentences and order the story in the right order? Can you use the story mountain and create a different problem in the Katie Morag story. Instead of a storm could there be a fire on the pier?

Please select a range of activities to do in maths using the plans below. Attached are some numicon shapes to help with counting. Can they draw the matching numeral? Tens frames also below-can you place race to ten? Each person needs a tens frames and something to put on the frame and a die. Take it in turns to roll the die-add the corresponding objects to the frame. First one to fill their frame wins.
